Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., led by Mr. Hiroshi Yokota, President and Chief Executive Officer, along with volunteer staff, organized its latest edition of the "Canon Volunteer" activity. The volunteer group brought joy and extended its help to underprivileged children under the supervision of the Foundation for Slum Child Care, Under the Royal Patronage of H.R.H. Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra. Canon representatives visited 3 daycare centers under the foundation's care: Baan Hang Kwam Wang, Baan Sri-Nagarindra, and Baan Sua Yai. The company engaged in activities designed to develop the children's skills and provided a lunch. Additionally, Canon donated food and essential supplies to support the foundation's staff in their efforts to ensure the children's proper development, helping them grow into healthy, capable adults.
Mr. Hiroshi Yokota, President and Chief Executive Officer, shared insights about the latest Canon Volunteer activity, “The Canon Volunteer activity aims to continue supporting the Foundation for Slum Child Care, which oversees 4 daycare centers in the Bangkok area. Last year, we visited Baan Som Wai in the Klong Toei community, providing essential items. This year, we are committed to supporting 3 more daycare centers: Baan Sri-Nagarindra (Nong Khaem garbage dump community), Baan Sua Yai (Sua Yai Pracha Uthit community), and Baan Hang Kwam Wang (Soi On Nut 88, Yaek 10). These centers care for children while their parents are at work or when the children live in unsafe environments. Some children face developmental delays and impaired communication. Our volunteer employees engaged in arts activities and provided lunch for the children. We also donated food, milk, and essential equipment such as a water dispenser, developmental toys, and storybooks. Additionally, we provided DIY resin craft kits for BaanSri-Nagarindra to offer vocational training to youth in slum communities, helping them develop additional sources of income.”
“Canon continues to create happiness and support for Thai youth’s healthy growth through continuously organized Canon Volunteer activities. This is in line with our commitment to doing business while giving back to society, following the Kyosei philosophy that emphasizes working together for the common good,” concluded Mr. Hiroshi Yokota.
